The biggest question I get is, “How much time should I spend on social media?” It’s hard to think about squeezing something else into those 1440 minutes we have every day.
Solution: Schedule Your Social Media
My answer is simple, it will take as much time as you make for it. You can spend 10 minutes a day and be effective or 10 hours a week and be effective. It is up to you, your schedule, your goals, and your platforms. The key thing is to schedule it.
With the advent of email, people kept saying they would never have time for email. Today you have incorporated email into your daily routine. The same will happen with your social media. Begin by looking at your weekly calendar. Determine what you’d like to do with your social media this week. Calendar in hand, make an appointment with yourself. Then keep it. Do this over the next 3-6 weeks. Soon you’ll start to build a habit. My recommendation is to start with short appointments. Then increase the length as you feel comfortable.
For One Platform…
An example if you are using one as an active marketing platform, you should plan to spend at least 8 hours a week. One third of the time should be spend creating content, 1/3 of the time curating content and 1/3 on engagement.
